How To Use A 3rd Grade Research Paper Sample In A Proper Way

Research paper samples can be such a handy tool to have, yet it’s essential to know how to use them properly so there’s no chance of plagiarism. The issue of plagiarized work has become a widespread problem, especially since the internet has made so much free information available to everyone. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you can use it any way you want to. Whether you paid for your paper sample or obtained it at no cost, it’s important to know how to use it.

Proper use of a research paper sample

  • Use the sample to learn how the paper should look
  • To get an idea of formatting and style
  • To see how the writer used a hook in the introduction
  • To learn how to write a thesis statement
  • To see how transition sentences were used to lead from one main idea or one paragraph to the next

Paper expectations in the 3rd grade

The best paper sample you could possibly use is one given to you by the child’s teacher. If this is not available, you should have a list with the grade expectations for written papers. This list is the first priority for organizing and formatting the paper. Ensure the child follows all points and guidelines for the assignment as given by the teacher.

A sample is a supplement to the teacher’s guidelines and is never meant to replace it. If you need more help, the sample paper can provide that help. Make sure you don’t borrow any ideas or words from the sample. When you duplicate the language or ideas of another writer and then pass them off as your own, it’s called plagiarism.

It may be helpful to obtain a sample in the same field of study but not the same topic as the student, to avoid any copying. For example, if the main topic is Ancient Greece and your student has chosen to write about how the Greek alphabet was developed, you may want to obtain an essay sample on the introduction of the Greek Gods. There would be very little crossover of information.

However, if you can show your student how to use the essay to his or her advantage and you’re not afraid of copying issues, go ahead and get a sample in the same topic. Once the paper has been written by the 3rd grade student, run it through a plagiarism checker. They can be found online for no cost.

Get help when you need it.

You want your paper to look like you know what you are doing, so when you get in trouble, ask someone for help. Most schools have writing labs or tutors who are available to help on difficult projects like this. Your instructor should be more than willing to help you through a difficult portion whether online or in person. Do not ever think you are pestering your instructor because they get paid to help you learn and succeed.
